Another ingredient used in our JAMU is the Guazuma Ulmifolia also known as West Indian Elm or Cedar Bay, is a medium-sized tree normally found in pastures and disturbed forests. The plant has a long history of herbal use, and is much used in traditional and modern herbal medicine. 

The Guazuma Ulmifolia is a common tropical plant that its leaves extract has long been used traditionally to treat some tropical diseases and also helps to aid and manage body weight in some tropical countries.

Studies have shown that the plant lowers heart rate and blood pressure, relaxes smooth muscles and stimulates the uterus. Some may also used as a hair remedy to promote hair growth and alleviate baldness. Other independent research indicates that antitumor and anticancer effects (even against melanoma) as well as lowers blood pressure and protects the kidneys.
